Moving to a new city, let alone a new country, is hard work for a number of reasons. The to-do list might seem endless: decide where to live, find temporary and permanent accommodation, sort out paperwork and permits, and so on. If you are a parent, you will have to find a school place for your child(ren). On top of all this, you might come across with a language barrier unless your Spanish is fluent – in general, the level of English in Spain still leaves much to be desired. Our job at YES Valencia is to make your move easy and comfortable from day one until you are properly settled in. We work as your personal assistant and local coordinator, adapting to your specific needs.
Pre-move assistance

You receive information on different neighbourhoods and their services, including schooling options. We help you plan and organize your move and everything it involves. You can choose to do a tailor-made orientation tour to see different areas in Valencia and/or its surroundings, during which we explain what services and schooling options there are in the chosen area(s). If you would like us to assess your personal situation and answer specific relocation related questions, you may find helpful our Relocation consultation service.
Assistance on home search – rentals and purchases.
Regardless of whether you are planning to rent or to buy a property, we offer information on different neighbourhoods and advice on the best websites and using filters. This way your home search becomes efficient. We also make sure you pay a fair price. We first contact property owners and real estate agents, arrange the appointments for viewings, and then personally accompany you to view the properties. Once we find a place to live that meets your needs and preferences, we offer assistance with negotiation, contract signing and deposit payment, and go through the contract and its terms and conditions with you.
Formalities
In terms of paperwork, we help you get through the whole process, which can seem overwhelming to a newcomer. Among other services, we assist with applying for the NIE number, register as a resident, renew residence permits, register with the municipality, open a bank account, set up the health insurance, and others.
Settling in
Although finding a permanent place to live is a big step, there are still many things on the to-do list. We offer assistance with anything related to settling into your new home and home city. We help you get utilities set up, such as electricity, water, gas, broadband and phone. If you need a handyman, electrician, cleaner, babysitter or other professional, we provide you with trusted contacts. For families with children, we help you select a school / a nursery, and to complete the application and enrolment. If you wish to hire private tutor to your child, we help you find one. It is good to be aware of the fact that there are considerable differences between schools in Spain, so we recommend to choose one carefully.
When completing the initial phase of relocation, most of the times it is just a beginning of a much longer journey – which is full of new experiences and beautiful moments, but sometimes can make you feel homesick, lonely, frustrated or lost. We believe that being a part of the community and feeling it’s support is extremely important, especially during the initial period of transition to a new country, as well as to have a place to seek for liable and accurate advice and information from fellow expats and professional relocation assistants. Those are the main reasons why we have launched a friendly platform called Yes Valencia Network – a private forum for our clients only which is monitored by our relocation assistant team. We truly believe this tool benefits everyone involved and is a great added value to any service we provide.
